Situated at the intersection of Kaaistraat, Brugstraat, and Kasteletsingel in Beringen, this residential and commercial development redefines urban living along the canal. The project comprises 17 modern apartments and 4 commercial spaces, all designed to harmonize with the city’s vision of “living by the water.” With a focus on quality, sustainability, and community integration, this development stands as a new landmark in Beringen’s cityscape.
The city of Beringen aimed to revitalize its canal zone by introducing a mixed-use development that would:
Provide high-quality residential units with ample natural light and canal views
Incorporate commercial spaces to enhance local economic activity
Include underground parking to address urban mobility needs
Serve as a visual anchor alongside the historic cement tower, marking the beginning of the “living by the water” initiative
The design features a modern architectural style that complements the surrounding urban fabric. An additional penthouse on the fifth floor adds a vertical accent, creating a visual dialogue with the nearby cement tower. The building’s orientation ensures that all residential units benefit from abundant sunlight and picturesque views of the canal. To address parking needs, 24 underground parking spaces were constructed, supplemented by 18 additional spots on public land. This thoughtful integration of residential, commercial, and infrastructural elements contributes to the project’s role as a catalyst for urban renewal in Beringen.
